Just Back from Cabo: Big Ideas, Stronger Connections, and a Major Milestone for Veritas Allies

Updated: Jan 22

Date: March 19-29, 2021 Location: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We’ve just returned from an incredible few days in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico—and the energy coming out of this event is undeniable.

This week, Veritas Allies convened company leadership along with valued partners, and clients for an intentional gathering centered on the self-insured healthcare market. The goal was simple: ensure every attendee walked away with a ton of new ideas, fresh perspectives, and deeper insight into where healthcare is headed. Judging by the conversations, collaboration, and momentum created, that goal was more than met.

This event marks a pivotal moment for Veritas Allies. 2021 is the official launch year of MedicusSTAT, our newly formed technology and data backing subsidiary, and there was no better setting to introduce it. MedicusSTAT strengthens our ecosystem through advanced systems, data solutions, coding, claims processing, and administrative support—further reinforcing our commitment to defensible and scalable healthcare solutions.

The timing allowed for meaningful dialogue around innovation, technology, and what the future of self-insured healthcare should look like.

We were fortunate to be joined by an outstanding group of leaders, partners, and clients, including:

  • David Vizzini, Founder & CEO

  • Rick Villanueva, Chief Brand Officer

  • Mickey Warhola, VP of Clinical Management

  • Josh Bailer, President

  • Erik Read, VP of Operations

  • Shane Barnes, General Counsel

  • Sherry Freeman, VP of Client Relations

  • Mary Beth Donaldson, Diversified Benefit Administrators and valued Veritas Allies client

True to Veritas Allies culture, the event was as much about connection as it was about content. Between deep-sea fishing, beach activities, hands-on cooking classes, and resort days at the Hilton, there was plenty of space for meaningful conversations and relationship-building outside the conference room.

Those moments matter. It's where trust is built, partnerships deepen, and ideas evolve.

As we head back to work, the momentum from Cabo is carrying with us. The ideas sparked, relationships strengthened, and clarity gained during this event are already shaping what’s next for Veritas Allies.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to an experience that will have a lasting impact on our team and our partners. This is an exciting moment—and we’re just getting started.
